What's going on with Windows?

Pat Conrey

Mobe isn’t a virus. Windows is just very protective of your computer.

When you install Mobe on Windows, you might see a message from SmartScreen saying the app isn’t trusted. To keep going, click “More info” and then “Run anyway.” That’ll let the installer continue.

So why does this warning appear?

Windows SmartScreen is designed to protect users from unknown software. It doesn’t just look at whether an app has a verified signature. It also tracks whether lots of people have safely installed it before. New apps, even when completely safe, haven’t yet earned that “reputation.”

Mobe is brand new, which means we’re still building that reputation. Over the next few weeks, as more people download and install it, SmartScreen will automatically start trusting the app. Eventually, those warnings will disappear for good.

Until then, if you see a SmartScreen notice during installation or an update, don’t worry! It’s expected and harmless.

But you can help! Tell your friends to get the app. Get everybody in your contact list to install it and play with Mobe! Shout it from the rooftops! March in the streets! Bring Mobe to the masses! Or maybe just a post on X would be super duper nice of you.
